Odd Thomas Series, Book 4

"Koontz forges the kind of sweeping melodrama complete with screwball laughs, nail-biting moments, and surprises that is the bedrock of American narrative fiction." —Booklist

Only a handful of fictional characters are recognized by first name alone. Dean Koontz's Odd Thomas is one such literary hero, who has come alive in readers' imaginations as he explores the greatest mysteries of this world and the next with his inimitable wit, heart, and quiet gallantry. Now Koontz follows Odd as he is drawn onward, to a destiny he cannot imagine. Haunted by dreams of an all-encompassing red tide, Odd is pulled inexorably to the sea, to a small California coastal town where nothing is as it seems.

"One of the most remarkable and appealing characters in current fiction...a page-turning account...beautifully written...another literary home run." —The Virginian-Pilot

"Takes off at breakneck speed...a superb story from one of our contemporary masters." —San Antonio Express-News

About the Author-
  • The books of Dean Koontz are published in 38 languages, and worldwide sales top 400 million copies. Eleven of his novels have risen to number one on the New York Times hardcover bestseller list, and several have been adapted into feature films and TV miniseries. Dean and Gerda Koontz live in southern California with their golden retriever, Anna, grand-niece of the famous and beloved Trixie.
Reviews-
  • AudioFile Magazine That strange young man with the peculiar name is back in Dean Koontz's latest Odd Thomas adventure. It has the usual delightful mix of magic and mystery, but this book also seems to be a setup for a sequel since one of the major subplots is left unresolved. Of course, other plots are resolved, thanks to Odd's ability to talk to spirits, including the ghost of Frank Sinatra. Narrator David Aaron Baker is convincing as the gentle Odd Thomas, a genuinely caring man who is forever getting caught up in other people's problems. There's a childlike simplicity to Odd that is a challenge for a reader to capture. Baker makes it seem so easy that the hours just fly by. M.S. (c) AudioFile 2008, Portland, Maine
